Award ceremony on 12 October 2017 at the Théâtre Equilibre in Fribourg

The Federal Office of Culture presented the third Swiss Dance Awards on 12 October 2017 at the Théâtre Equilibre in Fribourg, in the presence of Federal Councillor Alain Berset. The Swiss Grand Award for Dance went to Noemi Lapzeson, choreographer, dance pedagogue and founder of the company Vertical Dance in Geneva, for her pioneering achievement in comtemporary dance. At the same event, the Outstanding Female Dancer accolades were presented to Tamara Bacci and Marthe Krummenacher, while Claudio Prati and Ariella Vidach with their company AiEP received the Special Dance Award. The Federal Dance Jury also selected four winners in the Current Dance Works competition, and the June Johnson Dance Prize was presented to Kiriakos Hadjiioannou and his company Antibodies. In addition to the presentations and film tributes, the AiEP company performed “Temporaneo Tempobeat” and the “Ballet Junior” showed “Un moment instant”, a solo by Lapzeson from 1991 which her long-standing dancer and companion Marcela San Pedro has rehearsed in a new version with four dancers specially for this evening.
