Gilles Jobin receives the Swiss Grand Award for Dance 2015

Inaugurated in 2013, the Swiss Dance Awards are presented every two years for current dance works and outstanding achievements in the field of dance. The principal award is the Swiss National Dance Prize. There are also honours recognising the work of an outstanding female and male dancer, respectively, as well as a special award for particular contributions to dance. The prize for current dance works is awarded on the basis of a competition, as is the June Johnson Dance Prize: organised in association with the Stanley Thomas Johnson Foundation, the latter is aimed at choreographers and dance ensembles that are just starting out on their careers. In the years between the Dance Awards, there is a competition on the theme of dance as cultural heritage. The aim is to recognise the quality and diversity of professional artistic dance, and to promote dance in Switzerland.
